Green Nanochemistry – application of the safe by design principle for obtaining new nanomaterials

In the third edition of the Green Week in West University of Timisoara and under the project NanoBioMaterials for drug delivery: developing and implementing the safe-bydesign concept to enable safe healthcare solutions – NanoBioMat (PN3-P3-284 / 2017), on June 7, 2017, at the Advanced Environmental Research Laboratories, Faculty of Chemistry, Biology, Geography, The Workshop „Green Nano-Chemistry – the application of the safe-bydesign principle for obtaining new nanomaterials” was organized.

Nine scientific communications have been presented that have defined and illustrated the application of the safe-by-design principle and have enjoyed the interest of the 26 participants, teachers and students, both from Faculty of Chemistry-Biology-Geography and from other universities in Timisoara. The participants had the opportunity to discuss the new concepts underlying the discovery and endorsement of new biomaterials that are safer for humans and that have no negative impact on the environment.

The students participated in a large number, both with scientific papers and debates, and this proves that they are interested in developing skills for applying new concepts in research.
